cloudbet vs roobet canada - novelty crypto coin

Roobet and Cloudbet both show up the second you start looking for a crypto casino in Canada. Roobet is the loud one, with streamers, sponsorships and a giant slot lobby. Cloudbet is the older, quieter one, with a sportsbook that's been taking Bitcoin bets since 2013. They overlap a lot, but they're built for different players. I'll walk you through who runs each, how the welcome deals actually pay, what ID you'll be asked for, and where each one is stronger, so you can pick without wading through ten hype pages.

Ground rules first. You need to be 19 or older in most provinces (18 in Manitoba and Quebec). This site does not serve Ontario or Alberta residents. Both brands below are offshore and neither is licensed by your province. Your licensed options are provincial sites like PlayNow in BC, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, or Loto-Québec in Quebec. Full disclosure: we have an affiliate deal with Cloudbet and none with Roobet, so every button on this page goes to Cloudbet. That's exactly why I've tried hard to be fair to Roobet below.

The quick verdict

If you want a casino and sportsbook in one account, a welcome package paid out as real cash with no wagering strings, and a brand that's been around for over a decade, Cloudbet is the easier pick. If you mostly spin slots, like a huge game lobby and in-house "Roobet Originals", and you're happy with a short cashback-style welcome deal, Roobet has a real case. The deciding points for most Canadians are the welcome structure, how many games are actually playable from Canada, and how each site handles ID checks.

Who's actually behind each site

This is the bit everyone skips, and it's the bit that matters most if you ever have a dispute. Cloudbet is run by Halcyon Super Holdings B.V. and holds a Curaçao Gaming Authority licence numbered OGL/2024/328/0599. Roobet's terms of service name Raw Entertainment B.V., a Curaçao company, licensed under OGL/2024/687/0427. Roobet's terms also say card and other fiat payments are processed by a related company, Raw Entertainment Ltd in Cyprus.

Both licences come from the newer Curaçao regime, and both should be shown in the site footer where you can click through and check them. What that means for you in Canada: it's a real licence with a regulator that accepts complaints, but it's not a Canadian one. If a withdrawal goes sideways, your provincial lottery corporation can't help. Your leverage is the operator's support, its complaints process and the Curaçao regulator. Screenshot your deposits, bets and support chats. Same advice for both.

One more tip: search results are full of look-alike "Roobet Canada" and "Cloudbet Canada" sites run by affiliates or worse. Type the real address yourself (roobet.com, cloudbet.com) or use a button you trust, and never enter your login on a domain you don't recognise.

Can you actually play from Canada?

Roobet

Roobet's terms list a set of restricted countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, the Netherlands and Curaçao itself. Canada isn't on that list. Ontario is a different story: Roobet has said publicly that Ontario is not a market it operates in, and Canadian trade press reported in 2025 that the brand blocks Ontario players. This site doesn't serve Ontario or Alberta anyway.

The catch most comparison pages miss is game availability. Roobet's help centre has a page on game provider restrictions, and several big studios block Canadian players from their titles on offshore sites. So the "7,800+ games" headline is a global number. From Canada, part of the lobby can be greyed out or missing, and it can change when a provider updates its rules. Browse the lobby logged in before you deposit, and check that the games you actually want are there.

Cloudbet

Cloudbet accepts players from the provinces this site covers. Its casino has the same issue every offshore site has, where a handful of providers limit certain countries, but its sportsbook is the bigger draw for a lot of Canadians, and sports markets aren't affected by slot-studio rules. If you bet hockey, football or UFC as much as you spin, that's a real point in Cloudbet's favour.

Welcome offers: cash package vs cashback week

Cloudbet's Welcome Package

Cloudbet's Welcome Package is worth up to US$2,500, paid in USDT. There's no promo code. It switches on with your first deposit, any amount, and the 30-day window starts at your first real-money bet after that deposit. Over those 30 days you earn rewards as you play: 10% rakeback on the casino house edge, daily casino and weekly sports cash drops, plus calendar unlocks that you have to claim within 24 hours. Cloudbet pays these out as cash with no wagering requirement.

Two eligibility points from the terms: the account has to be registered on or after 2 January 2025, and you can't stack it with another sign-up offer. The honest read: the package is good value if you were going to play steadily that month anyway. If you deposit once and vanish, most of the "up to $2,500" never shows up. Don't bet more than you planned to chase it.

Roobet's welcome deal

Roobet's welcome offer has changed several times, so treat this as a snapshot and check the live promo page. Recent third-party reviews describe it as 20% cashback on net casino losses during your first 7 days, credited daily with no wagering, with reported caps of around $200 per day and $1,400 in total. Some versions require a promo code at sign-up. That's a decent safety net for a first week of slots. It's not a bonus you "earn up" like Cloudbet's, it simply hands back a slice of what you lose, and only for a week.

Which welcome deal is better?

Loyalty after the first month

Once Cloudbet's package ends, you move onto its Rewards programme. Rakeback runs at 5% on the Bronze through Ruby tiers and 10% from Diamond upward, paid as cash. It's predictable, and you can see your tier in the account.

Roobet runs its own loyalty rewards and frequent promos, races and giveaways, many of them tied to streamers and sponsorships. That can be fun if you like the community side. It also means more nudges to play, so turn off promo notifications if you know that's a weak spot for you.

Coins, deposits and withdrawals

Neither site takes Interac directly. With either one, the usual Canadian route is: buy crypto on a FINTRAC-registered Canadian platform with Interac, then send it to the casino's deposit address.

Whichever you choose, match the network exactly. Sending USDT on Tron to an Ethereum address is the classic way to lose money before you've placed a bet. Do a small test deposit first, and do a small test withdrawal before you ever send a big one. Our guide to depositing USDT at Cloudbet walks through the networks step by step.

ID checks: when each site asks

Crypto doesn't mean "no ID". Both sites will verify you at some point.

My advice for both: verify early, before you have a withdrawal waiting. Use the same name and address as on your ID, and don't use a VPN to pretend you're somewhere else. That's the fastest way to get winnings held.

Casino games

Roobet's lobby is bigger. Its help centre advertises over 7,800 games, including its own "Roobet Originals" such as crash and dice-style games, plus slots and live tables from the big studios. If you're a slots-first player who likes variety and new releases, that's Roobet's strongest card, as long as the games you want are open to Canadian players.

Cloudbet's casino is smaller but still deep: popular studio slots, live blackjack, roulette and baccarat, game shows and a set of originals. Where Cloudbet is different is that the casino sits next to a serious sportsbook, so you're not juggling two accounts if you also bet on games.

House edge on in-house games varies by game and setting, so check the info panel on any original before you play. Don't assume "provably fair" means "good odds". It only means the result wasn't tampered with.

Sports betting

This is where the two separate most clearly. Cloudbet started as a crypto sportsbook and still treats sports as a main event: NHL, NFL, NBA, MLB, CFL, soccer, UFC, tennis and esports, with live betting and fairly high limits on popular markets. Roobet offers a sportsbook too, but the brand, promos and community are built around the casino. If sports are at least half of what you do, Cloudbet makes more sense.

Support and account safety

Both sites offer live chat and help centres. A good test before depositing: ask support a specific question, like which networks they accept for USDT or how the welcome offer unlocks, and judge the answer on accuracy, not speed.

Turn on two-factor authentication on day one. Real support from either site will never ask for your 2FA code or password. Cloudbet says plainly that official staff won't ask for 2FA codes on Telegram. Anyone who DMs you offering help or "bonus codes" is almost certainly a scammer.

Who should pick which

A simple way to decide for yourself

  1. Browse logged in. Make a free account on each and check the games or sports you actually want are available from your province.
  2. Read the live welcome terms. Note the window (30 days vs 7 days), caps and any code needed.
  3. Test small. Deposit a small amount, play a little, then withdraw. Time how long each payout takes.
  4. Keep one. Close or self-exclude from the site you don't plan to use. Fewer accounts, fewer temptations.

Legal and tax notes

Under the Criminal Code, provinces conduct and manage gambling in Canada. Cloudbet and Roobet are licensed in Curaçao, not by any Canadian province, so a provincial regulator can't step in if something goes wrong. This site doesn't serve Ontario or Alberta. Recreational gambling winnings generally aren't taxed in Canada, but buying, selling or swapping crypto can create a capital gain or loss, so keep records of your deposits and withdrawals for tax time.

Both sites offer deposit limits and self-exclusion in the account settings. Set a limit before you need one.

My take

For most Canadians outside Ontario and Alberta, Cloudbet is the more rounded choice: a long track record, a proper sportsbook, a welcome package paid as cash, and a clear ID trigger. Roobet is a fun, slot-heavy casino with a huge lobby, and its cashback week is a fair cushion for new players. Just check which games are really open to Canadians before you deposit. Whichever you choose, start small, verify early, set a limit on day one, and don't let a bonus decide how much you play.

Questions players ask

Is Cloudbet or Roobet better for Canadians?

For players who mix casino and sports, Cloudbet is usually the better fit thanks to its sportsbook and 30-day cash Welcome Package. Slots-first players who want a huge lobby may prefer Roobet.

Is Roobet legal in Canada?

Roobet is offshore and licensed in Curaçao, not by a province. Canada isn't on its restricted list, but Ontario isn't served. This site doesn't serve Ontario or Alberta.

Does Roobet have a welcome bonus?

Recent reviews describe 20% cashback on net losses for your first 7 days, with daily caps. The offer changes, so check Roobet's live promo page.

Do Cloudbet and Roobet ask for ID?

Yes. Cloudbet asks around US$2,200 in cumulative deposits or on request. Roobet uses four verification levels, from basic details up to source of funds.

Can I use Interac at Cloudbet or Roobet?

Not directly. Buy crypto on a Canadian platform with Interac, then send it to the site's deposit address.

Why are some Roobet games missing in Canada?

Some game providers block Canadian players on offshore sites, so part of the lobby may be unavailable. Check while logged in before you deposit.
