best mlb betting site canada crypto - baseball

Baseball is the perfect sport for a crypto bettor in a lot of ways. There's a game almost every night from spring to fall, the markets are simple, and the numbers people love to argue about are all public. But "best MLB betting site" lists online are mostly written for Americans, and the crypto angle usually gets one throwaway line. So here's the version I'd give my own brother in Canada: what to look for in a crypto sportsbook for baseball, how the two crypto books we cover stack up, how to stop the price of Bitcoin from messing with your season, and how to size bets so you're still in it in September.

Quick honest notes before anything else. You need to be 19 or older in most provinces (18 in Manitoba and Quebec). This site does not serve Ontario or Alberta residents, so if you're a Blue Jays fan in Toronto, this page isn't for you. The sportsbooks named here are offshore. Cloudbet holds a Curaçao licence and BetUS is an offshore book too, and neither is licensed or authorized by any Canadian province or by Loto-Québec. Under the Criminal Code, provinces run and license gambling, and the provincially licensed options for baseball are PlayNow in BC, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, and Mise-o-jeu from Loto-Québec in Quebec. Any odds, prices or bankroll figures below that aren't from a site's own pages are made-up examples to show the maths.

The short answer

If you want to bet MLB with crypto from Canada, the shortlist we'd actually stand behind has two names on it. Cloudbet is the one we'd start with: it's crypto-first, takes a long list of coins and stablecoins, lists MLB with the core baseball markets (moneyline, run line and totals, plus inning and first-five-innings style markets in its feed), and its withdrawals are typically processed within 24 hours. BetUS is the second option: it's a big US-facing sportsbook that takes crypto only from Canadian players, with deposit guides for Bitcoin, Tether, Litecoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, USDC and Bitcoin Lightning. Which one is "best" for you comes down to five things, and price matters more than any welcome offer. Let's go through them.

The five things that decide the best crypto MLB book for you

Forget the star ratings and the "top 10" badges. For baseball specifically, these are the things that move the needle over a season:

  1. The margin on a normal game. You might place a hundred or more MLB bets in a year. A book that takes an extra 1% on every moneyline costs you real money by September. We show how to check this in two minutes further down.
  2. The markets you actually bet. Moneyline and run line are everywhere. If you like first five innings, first-inning bets, team totals or player props, check that the book lists them on a normal Tuesday, not just on Opening Day.
  3. The coins it takes and the network fees. Paying a $5 network fee to move $40 is silly. A book that takes a cheap network for the coin you already hold saves you more than most bonuses.
  4. How fast and how cleanly it pays. Look at the stated processing time, the minimum withdrawal for your coin, and when ID checks kick in. Do this before your first deposit, not after your first big win.
  5. Whether the promos fit baseball. Some offers favour casino play. Baseball bettors want things that reward settled sports bets, or no promo at all if the strings are too long.

How Cloudbet and BetUS compare for baseball

What mattersCloudbetBetUS

Promos that help baseballWeekly Sports Cash Drops on settled sports bets during the welcome periodIts welcome packages are tied to certain US states, so don't count on them

Two honest caveats on that table. First, what a book shows in its data feed and what's on the board for a given game can differ, so always check the actual game page before you plan a bet around a market. Second, promos change all the time. We'll get into the welcome offers below, but treat them as a bonus to a good price, never as the reason to pick a book.

Cloudbet for MLB: what you get

Cloudbet has taken crypto bets since 2013 and it's built around coins from the ground up, so the cashier is the easy part. You pick the coin, pick the network, copy the address and send. It supports a long list of currencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum (on Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Smart Chain and Base), USDT on several networks including Tron and Solana, USDC, Litecoin, XRP and Dogecoin. Bridged or wrapped tokens like USDC.e are not supported, so don't send those. The minimum deposit is tiny, around a dollar or less depending on the coin, and the exact figure shows on the deposit screen. Anything below it won't be credited.

For baseball, its MLB competition carries the three bread-and-butter markets: moneyline, totals and run line. Its feed also lists an inning 1X2 market and a moneyline for innings 1 to 5, which is the "first five" bet a lot of pitcher-focused bettors like. Live availability varies by game, so look before you count on it.

Withdrawals are typically processed within 24 hours, with a minimum that depends on the coin and the network fee shown before you confirm. ID checks are the part people forget: under Cloudbet's terms (18.1.5), once your cumulative deposits reach about US$2,200 you hit Level 1 limits and need to verify with ID, proof of address and a face check to lift them. If you plan to bet a full season with decent stakes, verify early so a payout never stalls in August.

BetUS for MLB: what you get

BetUS is a long-running, US-facing sportsbook, and baseball is one of its staple sports, with the usual moneyline, run line and totals plus futures and props depending on the day. For Canadians, BetUS is crypto only. Its help centre has deposit guides for Bitcoin, Tether, Litecoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, USDC and Bitcoin Lightning, and says most deposits are processed instantly or within a few minutes. On payouts it says some methods can be done within a few hours while others take several business days, and withdrawals are reviewed once requirements are met.

The thing to watch with BetUS is the promotions. Its promo page shows cash bonuses and sports re-up offers with rollover, and its terms tie the welcome packages to certain US states. As a Canadian, ask support whether an offer applies to your account before you deposit, and get the answer in the chat transcript. If it doesn't apply, that's fine: a good price on a Tuesday night matters more than a bonus anyway. BetUS also doesn't publicly confirm which USDT network it uses, so check the cashier for the network name before you send Tether.

Check the margin yourself in two minutes

This is the single most useful habit for MLB betting at any book. Take both sides of one game's moneyline, turn each price into an implied probability, and add them up. Anything over 100% is the book's cut. Here's how American odds convert (these are standard conversions, not any book's actual prices):

American oddsDecimalImplied chance
-2001.5066.7%
-1501.6760.0%
-1201.8354.5%
-1101.9152.4%
+1002.0050.0%
+1202.2045.5%
+1502.5040.0%
+2003.0033.3%

Now four made-up moneyline pairs, so you can see what a tight line and a fat line look like:

Favourite / underdog (made-up)Implied totalBook's marginFair chance for the favourite
-150 / +130103.5%3.4%58.0%
-165 / +140103.9%3.8%59.9%
-125 / +105104.3%4.2%53.2%
-110 / -110104.8%4.5%50.0%

See how "-110 both ways" carries the biggest cut? That's common on run lines and totals. Do this for the same three or four games at each book on the same evening and you'll know which one is cheaper for the way you bet. It takes less time than reading one bonus page. If you're shaky on reading odds formats, our guide to decimal vs American odds walks through it.

Bitcoin or a stablecoin for your baseball bankroll?

This is where crypto MLB betting gets different from betting in dollars, and it's the part most "best site" lists skip. If your balance sits in Bitcoin, your bankroll moves every day whether you bet or not. Over a six-month baseball season that can swamp anything you do with your picks.

A made-up example: you bet the equivalent of $50 on a -150 favourite and it wins. You're paid $83.33, which is a $33.33 profit. But say Bitcoin drops 8% before you cash out. Your $83.33 is now worth about $76.67, so your profit in dollars is $26.67. You picked a winner and still lost a fifth of the profit to the coin. The same thing can work in your favour, of course, but now you're betting on two things at once: the game and the coin.

Your $100 balance held in Bitcoin, made-up price movesWorth in dollars
Bitcoin -10%$90
Bitcoin -5%$95
Flat$100
Bitcoin +5%$105
Bitcoin +10%$110

My honest take: if you want to judge yourself as a baseball bettor, keep your sportsbook balance in a US-dollar stablecoin like USDT or USDC. Then a win is a win and a loss is a loss, and your record means something. If you love holding Bitcoin, hold it in your own wallet, separately, and fund the sportsbook with a stablecoin. Our step-by-step on depositing USDT at Cloudbet from Canada shows the networks to pick.

Getting crypto in the first place, from Canada

Most Canadians do it the same way: send an Interac e-Transfer to a Canadian crypto platform, buy the coin, then withdraw it to the sportsbook's deposit address. Cloudbet also offers buy-crypto options inside its cashier through payment partners, but those partners charge their own fees. Our walkthrough on getting from Interac to Cloudbet covers the whole route, including the mistakes that lose people money (wrong network, sending wrapped tokens, forgetting a memo or tag on coins that need one).

Three small rules save most of the headaches:

Join BetUS (crypto only for Canada)

18+ (19+ in most provinces). Canadian players: crypto deposits and payouts only. BetUS is an offshore site, not licensed by any Canadian province. Not available to Ontario or Alberta residents through this site. Ad: we may earn a commission. Bet only what you can afford to lose.

Which baseball markets suit a crypto bankroll

You don't need every market. Here's how I'd think about the main ones if you're starting out:

Our full guide on round robin bets is worth a read if you're tempted to string baseball picks together, because parlays multiply the book's margin along with the payout.

A 162-game staking plan that doesn't blow up by June

Each team plays 162 games, which is 2,430 regular-season games across the league. That's a lot of temptation. The bettors who last pick a fixed unit and stick with it. Here's a simple made-up table using 1%, 2% and 3% of a starting bankroll per bet:

Starting bankroll1% unit2% unit3% unit
$200$2$4$6
$500$5$10$15
$1,000$10$20$30

A few rules that go with it:

Welcome offers: what's worth it for a baseball bettor

Cloudbet's Welcome Package (terms 8.4) runs for 30 days, starting from your first bet after your first deposit, for players who registered on or after 2 January 2025 and haven't taken another sign-up offer. It's worth up to $2,500 in total, but most of the value comes from casino rakeback and daily casino cash drops. Sports bets don't earn the rakeback. What does help a baseball bettor is the Weekly Sports Cash Drop, which unlocks on Fridays at 00:00 UTC (that's Thursday evening in Canada, 8 PM Eastern or 5 PM Pacific during daylight time) and is based on settled sports bets. Rewards land in a calendar you have to claim within 24 hours of unlocking or they're gone, so set a reminder. Cloudbet describes the rewards as real cash with no wagering.

After the welcome period, Cloudbet's Rewards programme gives level-up rewards as your lifetime turnover grows, and sports turnover counts toward it, along with casino play.

BetUS shows cash bonuses on first deposits with sports rollover, plus re-up offers. As above, its terms tie welcome packages to certain US states, so ask before you deposit. If an offer does apply to you, read the rollover number: a 6x or 10x sports rollover means you have to bet the bonus amount that many times before you can withdraw it, which on baseball at -110 prices costs you a slice of the bonus in margin every time round.

Is it legal to bet MLB with crypto in Canada?

Single-game sports betting has been legal in Canada since August 2021, when the Safe and Regulated Sports Betting Act came into force, but it's the provinces that run and license it. In BC, Manitoba and Saskatchewan that's PlayNow, and in Quebec it's Loto-Québec's Mise-o-jeu. Offshore crypto sportsbooks like Cloudbet and BetUS aren't licensed or authorized by any province. Players aren't typically the target of enforcement, but you don't get the consumer protections of a provincial site: no provincial regulator to complain to, and disputes go through the operator and its own licensing authority. Go in knowing that, keep amounts you can afford to lose, and keep good records.

On tax: for most recreational bettors in Canada, gambling winnings aren't taxed, but crypto is its own topic, because selling or swapping coins can create a capital gain or loss. Our page on whether Canada taxes betting winnings explains the difference. Keep a record of every coin you buy, send and cash out.

A made-up first month, start to finish

Here's how a careful start might look for a Regina fan who wants to bet baseball with crypto. They set a $300 budget for the month. They send an Interac e-Transfer to a Canadian crypto platform, buy USDT, and send $5 to Cloudbet on the Tron network as a test. It lands, so they send the rest. They pick a $6 unit, which is 2%, and decide on a maximum of three bets a night and twelve a week.

Before each bet, they do the margin check on that game and only bet markets they understand: moneyline and first five innings. Every Thursday evening they claim the sports cash drop in the rewards calendar during the welcome period. At the end of the month they're down $22 after 41 bets. Not great, but their log shows they beat the closing price on 24 of the 41, which is a decent sign, and they still have $278 and a clear head. They withdraw $200 back to their platform to prove the payout path works, and keep the rest for next month.

That's what "best MLB betting site" really means in practice: a book with fair prices for your markets, a cheap coin route, and a payout you've tested, used by someone with a plan.

Questions players ask

What is the best MLB betting site in Canada for crypto?

Of the books we cover, Cloudbet is our first pick for crypto baseball betting: it's crypto-first, lists MLB moneyline, run line and totals, and typically processes withdrawals within 24 hours. BetUS is the second option and takes crypto only from Canadians. Compare the margin on a few games before you choose.

Can I bet on the Blue Jays with crypto from Canada?

Offshore crypto books list Blue Jays games, but this site doesn't serve Ontario or Alberta residents. In BC, Manitoba and Saskatchewan the provincially licensed option is PlayNow, and in Quebec it's Mise-o-jeu.

Should I keep my sportsbook balance in Bitcoin or USDT?

For most bettors, a US-dollar stablecoin like USDT or USDC is better, because your balance doesn't swing with the coin's price and your betting results stay clear.

Does Cloudbet have first five innings betting on MLB?

Its MLB feed lists a moneyline for innings 1 to 5 and an inning 1X2 market. Availability can vary game by game, so check the game page before you plan around it.

Does the BetUS welcome bonus work for Canadians?

BetUS terms tie its welcome packages to certain US states, so ask support in chat whether an offer applies to your account before you deposit.

Are crypto MLB betting sites legal in Canada?

Provinces run and license gambling. Cloudbet and BetUS are offshore and not licensed or authorized by any Canadian province or Loto-Québec, so you don't get provincial consumer protection.
